The son of Rembrandt often appears on his paintings, e.g. as youthful christ, as a saint or as the Seraphim whispering to the ear St. Matthews in the painting "St. Matthew and the Angel".Unfortunately, Titus dies in 1668 in the age of only 28 years, shortly after his marriage, leaving the already stricken father who has endured many tragedies and who dies only one year later in the age of 63 years.
